About the event
Below - Baladi Performance with Rita Barker and Ibrahim el Minyawy 1999.
This workshop is for intermediate students who wish to enhance their experience learning sagat (finger cymbals) to accompany their dance. Some prior experience of baladi is essential. Rita teaches in the style taught by Suraya Hilal with whom she learned extensively during the 80's and early 90's. Application for the workshop is by email, stating your experience in full. The workshop will take place on a Sunday in early spring 2026. Date to be confirmed very soon.
